A private kindergarten in Bratislava we have run since 2012
Sovička Kindergarten is a private bilingual kindergarten in Bratislava for children aged 2 to 6. We opened our first kindergarten in 2012, and since then more than 1,000 children have grown up with us. Today we have three kindergartens: in Kramáre, Ružinov and Vrakuňa.
Why we opened Sovička
We started Sovička for parents who hand their child over at the kindergarten door in the morning and then spend the whole day at work wondering whether they are all right. We wanted your child to have a calm day behind that door, so you wouldn’t need to worry. Your child is in a small class with a teacher who knows them. They hear English at play and at lunch, and they go outside whenever the weather allows.
The same is true at each of our three kindergartens: there are no more than 15 children in a class, and every morning they are greeted by a teacher they know.
What we insist on at Sovička
These things matter to us every day, so that your child feels good here. They apply at all three kindergartens.
No more than 15 children in a class
Every class has 7 to 15 children and one teacher. Your child won’t get lost in the group, and the teacher notices when they are sad or tired.
English throughout the day
Your child hears English while getting dressed, eating and playing, because every kindergarten has an English-speaking teacher from morning until afternoon. So your child takes it as part of the day.
Settling in without rushing
For the first few days your child spends shorter days with us, and we lengthen them as things go well. If your child needs it, you can stay with them at the start.
Outdoors every day
Your child goes outside in the morning and in the afternoon. In the Rozhýb labky programme the children get to know Slovakia’s protected animals and move the way the animals do.
Feelings and money through play
In the EQ programme, children learn to say what they feel and to agree with a friend. In financial literacy, they find out the difference between “I want” and “I need”.
