What the monthly fee includes
Your child pays nothing extra for English, speech therapy, the EQ programme or trips. They are all part of the monthly fee. The only additions are meals and sports activities, if your child wants them.
English all day
Your child is with an English-speaking teacher from morning until afternoon. You pay nothing extra for English.
Speech therapy once a week
At the Jazýček šikovníček club, your child practises clear pronunciation.
EQ programme and financial literacy
Children learn to name their feelings, work together and understand the value of money.
School readiness and assessment
We follow your child’s progress and go through the results with you at a one-to-one consultation.
Trips and projects
Your child comes with us on trips into nature and to see animals. They take part in theme days and in the Rozhýb labky and Zdravé oči už v škôlke projects.
Bedding, towels, toothbrush, cups
The kindergarten washes the bedding. You only bring indoor shoes, pyjamas and spare clothes.
Why you pay the same in summer
Sovička is open all year round. We are only closed on public holidays and from 24 December to 1 January. Your child’s place, the teachers and the building are ready for your child every working day, so the monthly fee is not reduced in summer or when your child is ill. When you know your child won’t be coming in, you simply cancel meals in the app.
Sports activities at extra cost
Your child can do swimming, the climbing wall, ice skating and skiing at all our kindergartens. Cycling is offered in Kramáre and Vrakuňa, and football only in Vrakuňa. They run in blocks, and you sign your child up only for the ones they are interested in. We will tell you the current offer and the price of a block when you visit.
Childcare allowance for children under 3
If you work or study and your child is not yet 3, you can apply to the Labour Office (ÚPSVaR, the Slovak office for labour, social affairs and family) for the childcare allowance (príspevok na starostlivosť o dieťa) for a private kindergarten. According to the Labour Office, the allowance for a private facility is up to €280 a month. Whether you qualify depends on your residence and insurance in Slovakia, so please check with the Labour Office. What to do if your child didn’t get a place at a state kindergarten is explained in our article No place at a state kindergarten?
